David M. Bourg has 25 years experience as a Naval Architect involved in wide variety of projects. Before becoming an independent consultant in 1997, David spent time at Textron Marine Systems, Bollinger Shipyards, J. Ray McDermott, and Friede & Goldman. David has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Orleans School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering where he taught various courses since 1993. David holds a PhD in Engineering and Applied Science from the University of New Orleans. His research focused on the development of a new computational fluid dynamics method capable of handling multiphase flow, involving both incompressible and compressible constituents, with applications to cavitating flow. Outside of the field of Naval Architecture, David has authored several technical books on game physics, artificial intelligence, and scientific computing. In 2006 David changed his independent consulting practice’s name to MiNO Marine LLC while bringing on his partner Kenneth Humphreys, P.E.
